About Me
About Me
I'm a science writer based in Tacoma, WA. I got my start at Discover magazine, where, in addition to writing and editing news and features, I wrote a series about (almost) every species named after David Attenborough.
As a freelancer, I've been lucky enough to write for a number of publications, including Atlas Obscura, Hakai, Yale Environment360, Science, Undark and more.
I've covered a broad range of topics, but I'm drawn most to stories about the living world, the environment and human origins. I'm also a founding partner at Lunaris Creative, a digital content agency for science brands and organizations.
